LOVE IT!
We’re getting the free square because Wes Anderson is on Fresh Air today.
Wish I had this yesterday when I saw “Moonrise Kingdom.” A very Wes Anderson film—hyper stylized, nostalgic and slightly heart-wrenching while making you want to live in the characters’ world.

I came across Paige Smith’s blog through “Speakeasy Sunday,” a fantastic blog that I don’t ever recall adding to my RSS reader, but was pleasantly surprised to see there nonetheless. Paige meticulously handcrafts each “crystal” in her geodes by cutting and folding paper and combing them into stunning urban geological formations. She then places them in previously scouted holes throughout LA (and recently went international with a geode in Mexico).
I love the attention to detail, not just in the geodes themselves, but that each one is crafted for a specific location - couture street art! I might have to plan some of my social activities around geode spots to see one in person.

making of Orto Bikes by Multipraktik
Springtime is all about renewal. The folks at ORTO have gathered 20 artists and 20 bikes, and in 10 days have given new life to rusty old velocipedes.
This inspires me to tackle reworking my old Centurion bike..
—Jim Campbell is an artist who creates work that could simply be labeled as 3-D electronic sculptures. But this platform enables Campbell uses 3-D LED grids to create abstractions of video.
I forget when I first saw his work, but it was nothing like what is featured in the video. It was probably at either the MoMA or the Hirshhorn. What I first encountered was a series of works no bigger than 3’ x 3’, but I knew that his work was special. It is great to see that he has continued his success and progressed in scale.
