Jim Campbell is an artist who creates work that could simply be labeled as 3-D electronic sculptures. But this platform enables Campbell uses 3-D LED grids to create abstractions of video.
I forget when I first saw his work, but it was nothing like what is featured in the video. It was probably at either the MoMA or the Hirshhorn. What I first encountered was a series of works no bigger than 3’ x 3’, but I knew that his work was special. It is great to see that he has continued his success and progressed in scale.
